Selenite is named after the Greek goddess of the Moon, Selene, and has a mesmerizing soft pearlescent glow - which is why we call it "Moon Glow" in our online crystal shop! Where is Selenite found? Selenite is a variety of crystallized gypsum that forms as an evaporate in clay beds, salt flats, hot springs and caves. It is found on every continent, with rich deposits in Morocco, Australia, Greece, the United States (you can even mine Hourglass Selenite in Oklahoma!), and most notably the Naica Mine's Cave in Chihuahua, Mexico.
