Amazonite is a green tectosilicate mineral, a variety of the potassium feldspar called microcline. History has shown amazonite to have been used by many different cultures including Ancient Egypt, Sudan, and Mesopotamia. The seventh chapter of the Egyptian book fo the dead was engraved in Amazonite and one of Tutankhamen's treasures was an amazonite scarab ring. It is believed to have been the third stone on Moses' breastplate. Energy healers call it the hope stone and believe it can awaken compassion through the heart chakra.
