The gorgeous specimens include Gemmy Aragonite with colorful Chalcopyrite on top of a Fluorite base, a very unique combination.
Aragonite is a carbonate mineral, one of the three most common naturally occurring crystal forms of calcium carbonate, CaCO₃. It is formed by biological and physical processes, including precipitation from marine and freshwater environments, so it looks like something you would find in the ocean floor, because it is! It was first discovered in the Aragon River in Spain in 1978 and that is how it got the name Aragonite. It is said to be deeply connected the earth + connected to our lower chakras (energy centers) in the body.
Chalcopyrite looks very similar to the more well known mineral Pyrite, but it actually differs quite a bit. It's mineral make up also has added copper and zinc. It grows in a tetragonal structure and when it tarnishes it displays gorgeous iridescent colors. Energetically, it is believed to be connected to the crown chakra, helping to open and clear the energy of your crown & head. It is also said to help you turn off the thinking mine in order be at ease in a no-mind, meditative state. As it is believed to move the chi, it is said to be a great stone to use during acupuncture.
Fluorite is a crystal that energy healers use for balancing, particularly thought to balance the brain, the creative right brain and the analytical left brain. It is said to help with harmonizing the heart with the mind, ensuring your words, thoughts and actions are aligned with the heart, allowing you to manifest in the 3d world what it is your heart desires. It is also believed that if you meditate with fluorite it can bring rich visions & insights. It represents the element of wind & is thought to balance all chakras not just one specific energy center in the body. Fluorite is a very cooling mineral.
This one weighs 14.6 oz and measures about 4.5 x 3 x 2 inches. I love that the corner has a big viseable chunk of fluorite.
