Lepidolite is a member of the mica group of minerals and is one of the most abundant lithium-bearing mineral. Lepidolite can only form in environments where high concentrations of lithium are available for mineral formation. Lepidolite is a rare mineral because these geochemical situations rarely occur. Energetically, lepidolite is said to be connected to the third eye and crown chakras. It is said to bring a since of calm to stormy seas, thought to help those going through turmoil in their lives, calming the emotional body. My favorite thing I've read about it, it turns off the worries and the "what ifs" of the mind, replacing them with a zen like trust.
While lepidolite itself is very fragile, these platters (in their completely natural form, have only been polished) are coarse flakes of purple lepidolite completely impregnated by quartz, making these platters naturally stronger than just lepidolite flakes on their own. I still suggest handling them with care and avoiding submerging completely in water.
These are from the earth in Brazil where they were cut and polished (on the top only). There are 4 available. They are A-D with photos in order holding each one, and left to right all together. Make a selection and the correct photo should populate automatically. They measure about ~ 8 inches x 7 inches x 1 inches. Please note that it appears C has some calcite on the left side as well.
