I find so much joy and comfort in dying these amazing silks with the plants on the land around me. This charmeuse silk slip might be the most luxurious piece of fabric I have ever worn and the color is mesmerizing & indescribable (hard to capture in photos.)
This slip was botanically dyed with redwood cones I hand collected around our land. Some believe the energy of the plant matter is infused into the silk. The redwoods are ancient majestic trees that have a sacred energy. Many believe the redwoods represent wellness, safety, longevity, wisdom, and communication. It is said “To walk in a redwood forest is to enter nature's cathedral.” Above all, these special trees symbolize vitality and longevity, as they can grow to 1,000 years old. I collected these cones from the tiny grove on the land we live on. Wearing this silk feels akin to forest bathing! Very bronze to rose gold vibe if I had to describe the color. Perfect for sleep or dress it up with a sweater and boots.
The details and care: The 100% silk known as Charmeuse Silk, from the French word for female charmer, is a lightweight fabric woven with a satin weave, in which the warp threads cross over four or more of the backing threads. These float threads give the front of the fabric a smooth, shiny finish, whereas the back has a dull finish. I personally washed + pretreated each one carefully to make sure it is colorfast in cold water. I suggest hand washing or gentle cycle with cold water and with a pH neutral soap for the longevity of the color and silk. It can also be steamed or ironed on the lowest setting, or a silk setting if your iron has that option, inside out is best.
Sizing: Please refer to the size chart photograph. I am 5ft 4 inches, usually a size 4-6 dress / 36 C or B - I am wearing a size medium in the photos. THIS IS A SIZE MEDIUM ONE OF KIND REDAY TO SHIP PIECE.
Color:This slip is one of a kind and has a darker redwood tone, with some natural dye lines showing up, I tried to capture in photos! Actual color may vary from the images and video shown. I tried my best to capture but every monitor or mobile display has a different capability to display colors!
