Pink Sapphire belong to the corundum family of minerals, very similar to Rubies - also known as pink ruby or pale ruby. They are one of the hardest colored gemstones coming in at 9 on the mohs' hardness scale. This gemstone consists of aluminum oxide with trace amounts of elements such as iron, titanium, chromium, vanadium, or magnesium. It was named "Sapphirus" in 1747 by J.G. Wallerius, it meant blue stone because that was the first variety found - now found in blue, pink, white, black, purple, yellow and green. Sapphire is the stone that was said to have been on the High Priests breast plate. It is believed by crystal healers to help with blood diseases + thought to heal on a cellular level. Pink specifically is energetically connected to the heart, thought to help one tap into forgiveness, love, acceptance and release.
My personal favorite thing I have read about it - it has the energy of the willow tree - encouraging one to be pliable and yielding, providing one with strength as they move with storm. The willow is actually stronger than a sturdy oak when a storm blows through. Thought to help one weather life's storms like a willow.
These stones are from the earth in Madagascar where they were mined, hand cut and polished into these unique shapes. Photos are an example of what you will receive. They weigh an average of .2oz and measure about .75 inches. Are a great size to take with you, would be awesome to wire wrap or make into wearable jewelry, or place on a grid. Tiny but mighty and very high quality.
