Marigold & Cochineal Silk Scarf (one of kind - ready to ship)

This scarf was botanically dyed with home grown marigold flowers & speckled pink with cochineal from a small, family-owned and operated organic farm co-op outside Lima, Peru.

Some believe the energy of the plant matter is infused into the silk. Marigolds have been used as medicine in many cultures, helping with ailments such as fevers, skin healing, inflammation and more. Throughout history many have regarded marigolds as having the energy of the sun, representing power, strength, and light that lives inside of a person. Cochineal, has been used as a natural dye by many ancient cultures including the Aztecs who thought demonstrating power and courage.

The 100% silk known as flat crepe, a light weight silk with a beautiful subtle sheen, measuring 22" x 22".  It was pretreated carefully to make sure it is colorfast in cold water, you can hand wash with a pH neutral soap or use your machine separately on the most gentle cycle if necessary. It can also be steamed or ironed on the lowest setting, or a silk setting if your iron has that option. Actual color may vary from the images and video shown. I tried my best to capture but every monitor or mobile display has a different capability to display colors!
