Raw Azurite

Azurite is blue copper based mineral. The name "Azurite" comes from Latin borrowed a Persian word lazhward meaning blue. It was used in many cultures, first documented with ancient Egypt and was the most important blue pigment in European paintings during the middle ages & Renaissance. Energy healers believe this mineral is connected to the throat chakra + the third eye chakra with its deep blue color. Thought to be a stone of inner insights and exploring dream states and a stone for addressing ones deepest fears. It is a softer stone with a 3.5-4 on the Moh's hardness scale, be sure to handle it with care and keep it dry! 

This gorgeous piece was found in Morocco from a small family owned and operated mine. It was left in is completely raw and natural state. I love its multi color blues! Please note that it is on a softer rock, handle with care . It weighs 1.1 oz measures about 2.5 x 2 inches.
